These persons are admitted to Italy <strong>regardless<\/strong> of the quotas established in the programming of <strong>entry flows<\/strong> for non-EU citizens for employment reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Decree applies to freelancers (so-called digital nomads), and to <strong>employees<\/strong> and <strong>collaborators<\/strong> whose working modality is organised by the client (so-called <strong>hetero-organised <\/strong>workers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entry and residence are permitted on condition that the persons concerned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have a <strong>minimum annual income<\/strong> of not less than three times the amount eligible for exemption from participation in health care contributions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>hold <strong>health insurance<\/strong> valid for Italy and for the entire duration of their stay;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are in possession of documentation proving their <strong>suitability for accommodation<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>can prove at least <strong>six months&#8217; previous experience<\/strong> in the work activity to be carried out remotely;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have an <strong>employment or collaboration contract or a binding offer<\/strong> for highly qualified work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From a procedural point of view, <strong>no<\/strong> <strong>provisional authorisation<\/strong> is required, and the <strong>residence permit<\/strong>, subject to prior acquisition of an <strong>entry visa<\/strong>, must be requested directly from the <strong><em>Questura<\/em><\/strong> (police headquarters) where the foreigner is located, <strong>within eight working days<\/strong> of entry into Italy. The document is <strong>valid<\/strong> for a period not exceeding 12 months, may be <strong>renewed<\/strong> annually, and will <strong>not<\/strong> be issued if the employer has been <strong>convicted<\/strong> during the previous five years for <strong>crimes<\/strong> related to <strong>illegal immigration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foreigner is allowed to avail of <strong>family reunification<\/strong>, and family members will be granted a residency permit for these reasons with the same duration as that of the worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a <strong>social security<\/strong> point of view, the provisions of the bilateral conventions on <strong>social security<\/strong> between Italy and the third country in question apply or, where no convention exists, Italian law.
