1925 — 2025
A milestone of commitment and innovation.
One hundred years of employment law.
Employment law is a legal discipline that evolves alongside society, adapting to the needs of a changing world.
The story of Toffoletto De Luca Tamajo is one of innovation and professional rigour—a project that spans generations, rooted in a family tradition that is both preserved and continually renewed.
1925.
The Firm is founded.
As Italy entered a period of transformation, Angelo Toffoletto founded his law firm in Milan, at 20 Via Senato, alongside his partner Ettore Venturini.
Employment law was emerging as a key area of focus, and the Firm quickly gained recognition for its rigorous, business-oriented approach.
1925 — 1950.
Pioneering employment law scholarship
In 1927, Angelo Toffoletto was among the founders of Il Diritto del Lavoro, the first Italian journal dedicated to employment law.
A strong commitment to legal research and in-depth analysis soon became a defining trait of the Firm.
1950 — 1975.
Growth and consolidation.
In 1951, Umberto, Angelo’s son, graduated in law with a dissertation on the role of executives—a work that would later be published—and joined the Firm alongside his father.
Young and enterprising, Umberto understood that expanding the project meant joining forces with other professionals. The Firm expanded to include four partners and around ten associates and trainees.
In the 1960s, Umberto expanded the Firm’s employment law services and introduced process innovations. Lawyers began using a six-section notepad to track their tasks and time spent on each assignment—an early example of a paper timesheet.
In 1970, Umberto Toffoletto’s first commentary on the Statuto dei Lavoratori (Pirola Publishing) became a key reference for both practitioners and employment law scholars.

1975 — 2000.
Innovation through new generations.
In 1975, Franco Toffoletto, son of Umberto, joined the Firm, focusing on internal administration and organisation.
He qualified as a lawyer in 1988, gained rights of audience to the Supreme Court in 1992 and introduced greater process efficiency: the Firm became one of the first in Italy to adopt legal technology—most notably with Easylex, the first case management software designed by lawyers themselves.
The 1990s marked a period of growth and increasing international competition. The strategic direction was clear: join forces to grow.
.
2000 — 2025.
Expansion and technology.
From 2000 onwards, everything began to change. The priority became building a strong network—both in Italy and abroad.
In 2001, Franco Toffoletto was among the founding members of Ius Laboris, now the world’s largest global alliance of employment law firms. The following year, he established AGI, and in 2003, the Firm moved to its new offices in Via Rovello.
In 2012, the merger with the firm of Professor Raffaele De Luca Tamajo strengthened the Firm’s presence in Naples and Rome—marking a strategic step towards broader expansion.
In 2015, the Research & Development department was established; in 2017, the HR Tax division began offering fiscal advisory services; and in 2020, the HR Advisory division launched Futuhro®—a digital platform designed to streamline personnel administration.
Over the years, new offices opened in Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Brescia, Genoa, Turin, Treviso and Venice.
The Firm’s goal: to provide businesses with broader, more structured support.
Today, the Firm is made up of approximately 160 people, including 30 partners and over 100 professionals.
The evolution of Toffoletto De Luca Tamajo reflects continuity, experience, and the ability to navigate ever-changing contexts.
As we mark one hundred years, we celebrate a journey shaped by vision, commitment, and innovation.

A story that continues.
