Gender Equality Week – Promoting inclusivity to increase growth in companies and Human Resources

Toffoletto De Luca Tamajo has organised Gender Equality Week to coincide with and celebrate the International Day of Women. From 7th to 11th March 2022, there will be a series of appointments, webinars, training courses and articles designed to involve both clients and our lawyers in activities that promote best HR practices and provide support to companies for creating a more inclusive environment.

The law, at various levels (Constitutional, European Union, and those promulagated by the Italian Parliament), favours the removal of any obstacles to equality between citizens and combats all forms of discrimination, including gender discrimination. However, there is no general obligation in Italy regarding equal treatment.  

During the webinar, we’ll take a look at the different forms of discrimination and treatment in the work place, the risks for employers when this discrimination occurs and the positive actions that can be done to create an inclusive environment.

Our committment to gender equality

Gender Equality Week won’t be ending on 11th March for our firm. On 7th March until July an internal project of workshops held by philosopher and trainer specialising gender equality issues, Lorenzo Gasparrini, with the aim of exchanging thoughts for structuring the firm’s internal policy on an inclusive language. 

Our firm’s dedication to an inclusive social and corporate environment also extends to its membership and support for associations such as Parks – Liberi e Uguali and Valore D, as well as the personal commitment of its lawyers to initiatives for the professional growth and development of female professionals. 

The number of female resources at Toffoletto De Luca Tamajo is in continuing to grow, particularly in positions of responsibility within the firm’s governing body. In fact, 45% of the firm’s partners are female (12 out of 27) and 4 out of the firm’s 9 offices are headed by female partners. If we consider the whole firm, 59% of our lawyers are female while the percentage increases further when considering lawyers under 40, of which women make up 65%.
