Gender equality: 30 April is the new deadline to apply for the social security contributions’ exemption

Last Updated on April 12, 2023

In its message no. 1269 of 3 April 2023, INPS announced the new deadline of 30 April 2023 for employers, who achieved gender equality certification by 31 December 2022, to apply for the social security contributions’ exemption.

Due, in fact, to the technical difficulties represented by the companies and their intermediaries, the Institute has extended the deadline (initially set for 15 February), giving employers more time to take advantage of this relief, following the instructions already provided by INPS in December (see our previous newsflash).

INPS emphasises that, when filling out applications, the interested parties must indicate the average monthly overall remuneration and not that of the individual workers, referred to the entire period of the certification. In this regard, companies that have already sent in their application with an incorrect salary may, again by 30 April, correct their application (subject to cancellation of the previous one), by sending a new one with the correct amount.

Finally, the message does not rule out access to this relief also for those who obtained the so-called ‘pink sticker’ after 31 December 2022, but this will be covered in subsequent ministerial indications.
